Really Nice Retractable Fast Charger with Premium Feel, Great for Travel and Multi Device Use

Really nicely designed charger that feels premium in the hand. Smooth matte frosted plastic finish, modern and sleek look, and everything about it feels solid. The retractable USB-C cable is the standout feature. Smooth pull out and retract action, fabric wrapped for durability and texture, and the USB-C head has a small magnetic clip that snaps it back to the body of the charger when not in use. No dangling wires, clean look when stowed, zero cable clutter in a bag.Fast charging works as advertised. Charged my iPhone from 12% to 50% in 10 minutes and the charger itself didn’t even get hot during the session (my phone did, but the charger stayed cool). Also kept my Macbook powered at 60W without issues, which is impressive from a unit this small. The second USB-C port lets you charge 2 devices at once, though you’ll need to bring your own extra USB-C cable since one isn’t included. Note that only USB-C works for the second port, no USB-A.One real heads up on the listing photos: some of the sales images show the side of the charger lighting up to display the active wattage. The actual unit doesn’t do that. The 45W label on the side is just printed, not an LED readout. Not a defect since the charger works great, just worth knowing before you buy if you were expecting the wattage display feature. At $35.99 (at the time of this review) the value is great for a GaN based retractable fast charger with 2 port capability and this build quality. ESR has a solid warranty track record which adds some peace of mind on the long term. Highly recommend for travel, work bag use, or anyone tired of coiling and uncoiling charging cables.

Compact, Tangle Free Charging

Travel bags have a way of turning a charger and a cable into one knotted mess, and this ESR Xtend fixed that for me. The 3.1 foot braided USB C cable lives inside the charger. I pull out as much as I need, it locks in place, and a quick tug sends it back in. When it retracts, the connector snaps magnetically against the side of the block, so the tip stays put and does not scratch anything else in my bag. The wall plug folds flat, and the whole thing feels dense and solid for its size.It charges my phone quickly, and it handles a tablet or a MacBook Air without trouble. It does warm up. With a phone it stays pleasantly warm, but under a laptop load it gets noticeably hot, so I would not leave it buried under a pillow or blanket. Charging two devices at once also heats it up more, and the charger splits power between them automatically. The second USB C port needs your own cable, since only one is built in.A few things to know before you buy. Both ports are USB C, so older USB A accessories will not connect directly. It is a wall charger only, not a battery pack, so it needs an outlet. I would also think twice if you dislike built in cables, because a damaged cable means replacing the whole unit, though the 12 month protection plan helps with that.Price is the main complaint, but I've seen it at 34% off which is much better.

Charging without extra bulk to carry

This sleek black charging station has quickly become one of the most useful components in my mobile accessory setup. The built in three point one foot retractable cable is a total game changer because it completely eliminates messy wire clutter on my desk. Having the ability to pull out the exact amount of line I need and then snap it back into the housing keeps my workspace looking incredibly clean. The device delivers an impressive forty five watt output that dynamically scales up to sixty watts using advanced adaptive voltage scaling technology. This smart power distribution safely juices up my phone and second backup device at optimal speeds without creating any excessive heat. It has a solid and premium feel in the hand while remaining compact enough to throw into a bag for travel. The secondary port gives me plenty of flexibility to connect an extra braided cable when I need to charge a tablet alongside my main smartphone. Overall this charger delivers an excellent combination of high power performance and smart cable management that makes my daily routine much easier. Unfortunately the package was damaged upon arrival. But so far works great.

The 60w pull when power is low is clutch

There are lots of 45w chargers out there so why might this one fit the bill? This is a newer type of charger that has AVS which allows it to ramp up temporarily to charge devices like the new iPhone faster. Here are my thoughts:Things I like:+ the size is only a bit bigger than other 45w but appreciate the ability to scale to 60w+ the build quality is solid and the retractable cable has good braiding+ it’s easy to use like any other charger but it also includes two other ports for shard power+ the magnetic cable snaps to portThe main thing you need to be aware of is the 60w does not sustain for long, only works when the device has low power. However when it does work it will juice up the device very quickly.

A powerful charger that cleans up the cable mess (Sleek & Safe)

I have been using ESR products for a few years now (switched over from the expensive brands a while back), and they continue to impress me with their build quality. I grabbed this 45W GaN charger because I wanted something powerful enough to juice up all my smart devices without needing to carry a tangle of wires, and this thing delivers. The design is incredibly nice and sleek—I’ve included some pics so you can see just how good this looks. The retractable cord is the real game-changer here. It works exactly like window blinds: you pull the cord to extend it to the length you need, stop, and it locks in place. When you're done, a quick pull and release retracts it instantly. A really nice attention to detail is the magnet at the edge; it snaps the connector flush against the edge of the block so it’s not dangling loose when not in use. Performance-wise, the 45W output is legit and charges my devices fast. Plus, seeing that it is ETL certified gives me peace of mind regarding safety standards, which is a must for chargers these days. If you are tired of tangled cords or looking to declutter your travel bag, this is a solid upgrade. Highly recommended!
