Apple's iPhone 18 lineup is arriving in two stages. On September 9, 2026, Apple introduced the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and its first foldable iPhone, officially named the iPhone Duo. The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are offered in four finishes: Black, Silver, Glacier, and Burgundy, while the iPhone Duo comes in Star White and Night Sky.
The standard iPhone 18, iPhone Air 2, and iPhone 18e were not announced at the September event. Current reporting continues to point to a spring 2027 launch, so any color information for those models remains unofficial. This guide separates Apple's confirmed colors from what is still based on pre-launch reporting and updates earlier rumors where the final lineup turned out differently.
| Model | Official Colors/Colours | Launch | Status |

Where Things Stand Right Now
Apple has now confirmed the colors for the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and iPhone Duo.
For the Pro models, earlier reports correctly pointed toward a burgundy-toned finish, a lighter blue-toned option, Silver, and, at different stages, Black. Some late reports framed Black and Silver as an either-or choice, but Apple's final lineup includes both. The lighter finish is officially named Glacier, rather than the Sky Blue or Light Blue names used in pre-launch reports.
The foldable story also became much clearer with Apple's announcement. Earlier reports used names including iPhone Fold and iPhone Ultra and described its finishes as Silver, Indigo, White, or dark blue. Apple ultimately introduced the device as iPhone Duo, with the official colors Star White and Night Sky.
A quick note on how we're labeling things throughout this page:
- Official — a product or color Apple has confirmed at an event or on its own site
- Rumored — information reported before launch but not confirmed by Apple
The iPhone 18 Pro, Pro Max, and Duo sections below cover Apple's confirmed information, while the iPhone 18, Air 2, and 18e remain in rumor territory.
iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max Colors
Official — Confirmed September 9, 2026
Apple offers both the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max in the same four finishes:
- Burgundy — the official name for the deep red finish that appeared in pre-launch reporting under names including Dark Cherry and Burgundy
- Glacier — the lighter, cooler option that earlier reports generally described as Light Blue or Sky Blue
- Silver — confirmed as part of the final lineup despite late reports suggesting it could be dropped
- Black — also confirmed, giving the Pro range four colors rather than the three-color lineup predicted by several earlier reports
Burgundy
Burgundy is the new standout finish in the Pro lineup. Before launch, the same general color direction appeared in reports under names including Dark Cherry, Dark Red, and Burgundy.
Apple has now settled the question: Burgundy is the official name, so earlier names such as Dark Cherry should no longer be used as if they were Apple color options.
Glacier
Glacier is the lighter, cooler option in this year's Pro range.
Pre-launch reports repeatedly referred to a Light Blue or Sky Blue finish. Those reports were useful for understanding the general direction of the palette, but Glacier is the official Apple name and should replace the earlier rumor terminology in post-launch content.
Silver
Silver returns as one of the official iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max finishes. Earlier reports pointed toward Silver, although a later report suggested Apple might drop it in favor of Black. Apple's final lineup confirms that Silver remains available.
Black
Black is also part of the final lineup. Despite late reports suggesting Apple might choose between Black and Silver, Apple released both, bringing the Pro lineup to four finishes.
The iPhone 18 Pro Max is available in the same four finishes as the iPhone 18 Pro, so color does not need to factor into the choice between the two sizes.
iPhone Duo Colors
Official — Confirmed September 9, 2026
Apple's first foldable iPhone is officially called the iPhone Duo. Names such as iPhone Fold and iPhone Ultra circulated throughout the development cycle, but they should now be removed from post-launch product and editorial content except when discussing earlier rumors.
Apple offers the iPhone Duo in two finishes:
- Star White — the lighter of the two official Duo colors
- Night Sky — the darker finish, broadly matching earlier reports of a dark blue or Indigo finish.
Star White
Star White is the lighter of the two official Duo colors. Earlier reports frequently suggested Silver or White for this option, but Star White is Apple's official name and should be used consistently from this point forward.
Night Sky
Night Sky is the darker option. This was the part of the earlier color reporting that proved most directionally consistent, with various leaks describing a dark blue, Indigo, or similarly deep finish before Apple confirmed the final name.
Those rumor names should not be treated as interchangeable with Night Sky, but they help explain why dark-blue components and accessory parts appeared ahead of launch.
Apple lists the iPhone Duo with a titanium frame and hinge cover, making the material and finish part of the overall appearance of both colors.
The two-color lineup is considerably more restrained than the four-color Pro range, giving buyers a straightforward choice between a lighter and darker finish.
iPhone 18, iPhone Air 2, and iPhone 18e Colors: What We Know So Far
Rumored — Not announced by Apple
Release timing note: Apple did not introduce the standard iPhone 18, iPhone Air 2, or iPhone 18e at its September 9 event. Current reporting continues to place these devices in a spring 2027 launch window as part of Apple's reported split iPhone release schedule. Until Apple announces them, their model names, specifications, timing, and colors should still be treated as unconfirmed.
iPhone Air 2
The iPhone Air 2 currently has the clearest early color reporting of the three. Reports have suggested that Black, White, and Light Gold could carry over, while a pale lavender finish could replace the current light blue option.
This remains an early rumor rather than a confirmed palette. With the device still expected months from announcement, Apple could change either the colors or their final marketing names before launch.
iPhone 18
There is still no sufficiently reliable color lineup for the standard iPhone 18. Rather than filling the gap with speculative renders or isolated leaks, we'll keep this section open until reporting becomes consistent or Apple announces the device.
iPhone 18e
There is also no confirmed color information for the iPhone 18e. The model was not part of Apple's September event, and specific finish names have not been established well enough to treat them as meaningful buying information.
We'll update these sections when stronger reporting or official details become available.
Will iPhone 18 Colors Look Different in Person?
They can. Official product photography shows the color lineup, but controlled studio lighting does not always show exactly how a finish will appear under daylight, warm indoor lighting, or shade.
That is especially important when comparing colors with close tonal differences. Glacier should now be referred to by its official name rather than being automatically equated with every earlier "Light Blue" render, just as Star White should not simply be treated as another name for the Silver finish predicted before the Duo was announced.
If the exact shade matters to your buying decision, real-device photography under several lighting conditions is more useful than judging from leaked renders or color names alone. We'll add practical observations once reliable hands-on photography is available rather than guessing from promotional images.
Which iPhone 18 Color Should You Buy?
If you want a neutral Pro color that works with almost everything: Black or Silver are the most straightforward choices. Both pair easily with clear, dark, or colored cases and a wide range of MagSafe accessories.
If you want the most distinctive Pro finish: Burgundy stands apart from the two neutral colors and gives the iPhone 18 Pro a noticeably different look without relying on an especially bright shade.
If you prefer something lighter: Glacier offers an alternative to both Silver and Burgundy while keeping the overall Pro palette relatively understated.
If you're considering the foldable: the choice is simpler. Star White is the lighter iPhone Duo option, while Night Sky gives the phone a darker appearance.
If you're planning to use a case anyway: choose the phone color you prefer rather than trying to match every accessory around it. A clear case is the easiest way to keep the original finish visible while adding everyday protection.
Color, Cases, and Everyday Protection
The finish you choose is only one part of how the phone will look after everyday use. If showing Burgundy, Glacier, Star White, or Night Sky is important to you, a clear case keeps more of the original color visible than an opaque design.
Screen and camera protection can then cover the areas most exposed to everyday contact without hiding the phone's finish. For users who prefer a different look, colored, frosted, or vegan-leather cases can shift the focus away from the original finish and make the case itself part of the setup.
That makes color choice less about finding one universally "best" option and more about deciding how much of the phone you actually plan to leave visible. Explore our iPhone cases collection and screen protector lineup to build a setup around how you use your iPhone.
